Obituary of Emma Lee Hennessey

Emma Lee Hennessey (Snyder) loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away June 15, 2023 at the age of 84.  Emma Lee lived in Seaside for 82 years, she never met a stranger and she often stopped to give someone a ride if they were heading in her direction. She always had a smile, and a quick witty comeback for whatever the circumstance.  After graduating from MPC she married Edward R. Hennessey they had six children together, Ed and Emma Lee spent their holidays camping, fishing and water skiing at various locations in the Northern California area. She loved being in nature and teaching her children plant identification and conservation. After her children grew older she went to work for the Monterey County School District and the Department of Social Services until retiring at the age of 62.  She leaves behind her daughters Alice Aday (Mike), Margaret Burch (Shawn), Kathy Ciolino (Jack Pugh), as well as 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly. She was preceded by her husband Edward, sons John, James, and daughter Mary Larkin. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to a charity of their choice.
