Our Mom, loved angels and had quite the collection of them, and now she has become an angel herself. God decided that he needed our mom more than we did. So, God took her to heaven on angel’s wings where she now has her very own angel wings. Mom can fly now, and as we know, angels fly because they carry no burdens. No more burdens for our mom.

Maggie (Magdalen) Moreland gained her wings on September 23, 2022. She held fast to her beliefs for all of her 92 years. Our mom was a passionate Catholic who was very involved with St. Francis parish and San Carlos parish. In reality, mom was equally passionate about everything just as she was about her Catholic faith. Whether it was cooking enchiladas, crocheting afagans, or fishing with our Daddy, our mom was a force to be reckoned with. Some might say she was an anomaly because it was mom’s way or the highway.

Our Dad, Carroll, and their daughters, Carol and Catherine, greeted her in heaven as they received their wings before mom did. Catherine earned hers on December 13, 2021 and Carol earned hers just 14 days before mom. Between the passings her two daughters, her Grandson Aiden earned his wings all to soon at the age of 25. Charles Edward (son) and Clara Loretta (daughter) remain on earth and proudly carry on the Moreland name.

Our mom’s final resting place is at Mission Mortuary in Seaside at the top the hill looking over the ocean. Our family had a festive ceremony on October 8th, 2022 with mariachi’s joyfully serenading our mom to heaven.
