Obituary of Beatrice "Bea" Terlaje Champaco

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved  mother Beatrice Champaco, also known as "Bea", familian Bojak.  Beatrice was born on November 28, 1948 in Agat, Guam to the late Jose Muna Terlaje and Joaquina Babautat Acfalle. She was the second to the youngest of (9) nine children; Baldovino Terlaje, Maria Nededog, Francisco Terlaje, Margarita Quichocho, Carmen Terlaje, Vicente Terlaje, Antonio Terlaje and David Terlaje. Beatrice graduated from George Washington High School in 1966. After College she entered her career in Federal Government Civil Services along with marrying Mariano Meno Champaco and having (3) three boys; William "Bill" Champaco (deceased), Andrew Terlaje Champaco (Marie), and Mariano "Nano" Champaco. Also Nana to (4) four grandchildren; Jasmine "Jazzy, Tiana, Tyler "Boyboy" and Taliyah.

Her family will sadly miss her fierce attitude, generosity and sense of humor.

Beatrice "Bea" was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She enjoyed spending time with her boys and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She always made sure her grandchildren had everything they wanted, more importantly what they needed. She showered them with so much love and joy. She had an infectious smile that would light up the room and made people around her laugh.

Bea was a devout Catholic and very candid. She would give you advice even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Her words of encouragement, wisdom and comfort were helpful to many. Every morning Bea prayed the Rosary. It was one of the many ways she maintained her faith. She also led the Guamanian community with song and prayer as she brought her Fatima to friends and  family households for blessings.

Cooking was something that came natural to Bea. There were a number of dishes she loved to prepare, however one stood out the most, it was her famous "Red Rice." For parties, she was the go-to person to cook the red rice. If the rice did not have that distinct taste she was known for, you know she wasn't the one who made it.

Besides cooking, Bea loved Casinos. It was her favorite pasttime. The slot machine was her favorite game and if she won, she was generous to many and loved by all.

We, the family of the late Beatrice Champaco, would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during our time of bereavement. Your prayers and presence at the nightly rosaries has touched us deeply.
