Obituary of Emilia Tolentino Advincula

Emilia T. Advincula, 87, Seaside resident for over 50 years, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughters in Seaside on September 21. 2017 Born in the Philippines, Mrs. Advincula relocated in 1960 to the Monterey Peninsula where she joined her husband, Jose Advincula, who retired from the US Army while stationed at Ft Ord. Mrs. Advincula was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Advincula, 1995; her son, Jofre Advincula; 2007; and her sister Leonida Garcia, 1990. Surviving Mrs. Advincula are 3 sons: Juanito Advincula, Jason Advincula, and Jeremy (Karol Kay) Advincula, and 3 daughters: Terry Advincula, Elena (Mike) Swanson, and Elba Advincula. Mrs. Advincula was blessed with eight grandchildren who adored her immensely: Marissa Swanson (Dave) Kopfensteiner, Leena Swanson (Jonathan) Faerber, Marcella Advincula Posada, Tino Advincula, Tara Advincula (James) Lozano, Gina Advincula Mancha, and Jonah and Jarren Advincula; also, 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. Also, Mrs. Advincula is survived by close family members Phlor Torrejos, Gigi Melendez, and several other relatives including her older brother Pedro Olarte, his wife, children, and grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Jerome Rubin, VNA Hospice, and to all who contributed to Mrs. Advincula's comfort and health care.
