My name is Maria Susan Stumm and live in Hampton, Virginia. I am the daughter of Dodong Susan and the grand-daughter of Ascion Susan of Angeles City, Pampanga. Although I've never met Tito Pal, I've heard of him through my family and the from Lola Charing Brodit. One of my fondest memories as a child are the many visits of the Brodit family in Angeles. Lola Ascion and Lola Charing stayed up late at night during those visits, laughing the night away while they reminisced their lives during pre-war Ft Stotsenburg and during the war in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. The topics of these talks are always centered on their children. Tito Pal will always be a hero in my book like the many men and women who served in the military. He will be missed I'm sure of it. I am Jose Calugas, Jr. president of the Phiiippine Scouts Heritage Society (PSHS) . My father was the late Capt. Jose Calugas, Sr. Medal of Honor recipient in Bataan, Philippines during WWII.
