He was born January 7, 1912 in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippine Islands. During his 20+ years of service in the U.S. Army, he fought in both WWII and the Korean War. While stationed at Camp Osaka, Honshu, Japan, Sebastian met and married his wife, Hisako Toyoda, in 1951. In May of 1956, he was stationed at Fort Ord, California. During this time, Sebastian, his wife, and two daughters, Mary and Helen, settled down in their home in the neighboring city of Seaside. He continued his career in the U.S. Army at Ford Ord until his honorable discharge in March of 1963. During the last seven years leading to his discharge, his family grew to include three more daughters, Suzie, Nancy, and Venus. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Sebastian worked in Civil Service. While in the Civil Service, he continued at Fort Ord by working in Silas B. Hayes Hospital until his retirement in 1980. During his retirement years, Sebastian enjoyed gardening and working around the house. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. When not engaged in these activities, he enjoyed watching boxing, musical programs, and westerns on television. Sebastian, on occasion, also enjoyed going on gambling excursions to Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. In January 2001, Sebastian moved to Fremont, CA to be with his youngest daughter, Venus, and son-in-law, David Mosekian. Sebastian was preceded in death by his wife, Hisako and oldest daughter, Mary.
