Obituary of Bernard Dale McComis

Bernard D. McComis, a resident of Marina and the Monterey area of over 50 years passed away November 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 11, 1936. Mr. McComis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later retired from U.S. Civil Service at Ford Ord. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue; his daughters, Teresa and Tara; his son-in-law, Art; his sister, Geneva Mullins of Louisville, Kentucky; and four granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Kassandra, Gabbie, and Taylor. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and in-laws. Bernie enjoyed sailing, RV camping, and frequent trips to Las Vegas. He adored his granddaughters and loved spending time with them. He always had good stories to tell but had to have a diet Pepsi in hand first. He also told many jokes. He was always there to help anyone who needed-if you needed something fixed, he was the man to call. He enjoyed country music 'the old stuff' as he put it and enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a interest in science and would talk about that too and everything or anything else he could think of. He loved The Lord Jesus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him but never forgotten.
