Obituary of Sandra Peterson

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is my strength and my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1 Sandra K Williams Peterson, daughter of the late Norman Williams Sr. and Catherine Williams, was born January 18, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN. Sandra received her elementary education while attending Indianapolis Public School #42 and Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, IN. After high school, Sandra worked for the US Postal Service and Indiana Bell Phone Company while living in Indianapolis. In 1981, Sandra moved her and her 2 daughters, Mananna (Mimi) and Nakitia (Kitia) to Seaside, CA to be closer to her brother, Norman Williams, Jr. She then began working for a company called Cambridge International where she met some of her long time friends. In 1985 Sandra met John "Pete" Peterson with whom they were joined in matrimony on May 28, 2004. During their 30 year courtship you would never find one without the other. They were and will always be kindred spirits. Sandra confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was a long time member of First Baptist North in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sandra loved her family, especially her 2 daughters, Mananna, "Mimi" Nakitia "Kitia" and 7 grandchildren. You could always find her baking, hosting "Friday Fish Frys" and being mom, grandmother, sister, aunt to everyone, but her favorite role was wife to her husband. Sandra leaves to cherish her memory; her loving husband of 30 years, John L. Peterson, daughters Mananna "Mimi" L. Allen (Arthur), Nakitia D. Miller, Margo Duarte, Nikki Guiles (Kenneth), and Tilia Hardy; Her special niece Denise "Dee Dee" Bland who was her "first daughter"; brothers, Norman Williams, Jr, (Linda) and Ricky Lee Williams, brothers in law Lawrence Peterson, George Peterson, and Lewis, Jr. of Tarpon Springs, Florida; Sister in laws Betty Jones (John), Joyce Peterson and Carolyn Sherrod; grandchildren, Imani Allen, Jalen Allen, Kayla Allen, Cashayala Miller, Keyshawn Miller, Keenan Jones, and Darrion Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and close friends.
