Obituary of Bernice Maxine Kelly

Bernice Maxine Brown was born June 10, 1927. She was baptized on December 7, 1941 at Liberty Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. She was saved on the last Tuesday night of October in 1941 at the age of 14 years old. At Liberty Baptist Church she serviced as the pianist for the Junior Church and Sunday School. She was also a member of the Olive Leaf Club which is an auxiliary at the church. Bernice later joined Bethel and served there for seven years before making Friendship Baptist Church her new home church. She served in the WMU Mission Department. Bernice was married to Thomas Andrew Pratt and from this union one beautiful girl came into the world. On August 13, 1973, she married William Kelly Jr. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1993. Bernice leaves behind her daughter Cordilia Daffin-Scott, a granddaughter Shanae Daffin (Sellers), a grandson Joseph Daffin, a great-grandson Dezmon Sellers and many cousins and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents Mr. and Mrs. Luther Z. Brown, several aunts and uncles. Bernice was an only child. We look forward to someday gathering together around the Throne of God forever praising and worshipping God and his only Son Jesus Christ.
