Obituary of Chris Carew

Chris Carew December 1, 1951 ~ March 10, 2011 Chris was born in Japan and moved to the Monterey Peninsula when he was 6 years old. Chris passed away at home with the support of family and hospice. He worked as Chief Engineer, Plant Operations at Salinas Valley State Prison for almost 30 years. Chris served in the US Army and id a tour of duty in Vietnam. His favorite pastimes were playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, creating bonsai plants, watching sports and cooking. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Cherie, his mother Tsune Carew, his brothers Isao Yoshioka and Edward Carew. His sisters, Yoko Yoneya, Jo Ann Naghibzad and Yokul Thomas, Niece, Kathy Nakazawa, and 5 other nieces and 6 nephews. Step-fater to Angela Dorio, Lisa Rogers, Deanna Allen and Noel Dorio.
