Obituary of Ruth Ann Acosta

Ruth Ann Acosta passed away peacefully and surrounded by family, on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, at the Mariposa Assisted Living Facility in Seaside, CA. She was 77 years old. Ruth was born in New Mexico to Frank and Eufemia Vallejos on July 13th, 1940, and grew up in the Farmington, New Mexico area. Ruth attended Hawthorne Elementary and Mineral County High School, MPC. Although she grew up in New Mexico, Ruth lived in various places including, Hawthorne, NV, Guam, Panama, Germany, Hawaii, and eventually settled in Seaside, CA. Ruth was a teacher's aide at the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Special Education Department and also served as a soldier for the Salvation Army Seaside District. She was a faithful member of the Monterey Bay Christian Center in Seaside for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Tito Acosta, sons, Tito Acosta, Jr. and Reynaldo Acosta, daughter, Tina Erickson, brothers, Jose Vallejos and Leo Vallejos, 8 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters, Ida Garcia, Stella Dawes, Lucy Vallejos and Priscilla Hamabata. A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018, beginning at 11:30 am, at Seaside Funeral Home, 1915 Ord Grove Avenue, Seaside, CA, 93955, with a Graveside Service immediately following. At the request of Ruth's family, attendees are encouraged to not wear only black as Ruth wanted a more joyous affair.
