Mary Williams

Obituary of Mary Williams

Lola left this earth on New Year?s Day to be with her beloved Frank Ott who preceded her in death in 1997. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa and spent part of her life in Chicago and danced at that time in a chorus line. She transplanted to California in the 1940?s, where she worked in many different venues as well as owning her own diner in San Pedro, California. She moved to Pacific Grove in 1952 and later to Carmel Valley where she remained until her death. Lola had a passion for music and she looked forward to every weekend listening to: ?Way Back Now? on Magic 63 radio. Everyone should have had a memory like Lola; she could remember back as far as three years old as well as every street address she lived on throughout her life. Lola was quite a character and a woman, you could often see her in shorts and red go-go boots wearing her vintage jewelry and having conversations with her ?meals on wheels? men and celebrities that would stop by. Lola will be missed by many. I lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Meals on Wheels, 700 Jewell Ave., Pacific Grove, California, 93950.
