Obituary of Mary L. Villalpando

Mary L. Villalpando, 86 Passed away peacefully into the hands of our lord on February 18, 2011 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula with her loving family at her side. Mary Villalpando was born April 9, 1924, in Ventura, CA. She married her husband of 64 years, John L. Villalpando, on March 24, 1947 in Santa Clara, CA. They later moved to Monterey where they raised their two children. Mary is survived by her loving husband and two children Bee McGary (Brian) of Monterey, and John D. Villalpando (Josephine) of Monterey, CA. Three grandchildren, Jeff Collard of Idaho, Mary R. Villalpando of Monterey, CA, John P. Villalpando (Tasha) of Pleasant Hill, CA and great Grandchild Lane P. Villalpando. Mary spent most of her time with John Sr. and little Bella on walks and seeing the outdoors. She enjoyed water classes at the Monterey Sports Center and getting to see her friends there along with keeping fit. We will always remember Mary as a loving wife and mother. She touched the lives of many people with her love for life and the love she had for others. She had a smile that warmed the heart of all who were around her. There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 9:30 am at San Carlos Cathedral, 500 Church Street, Monterey, CA. A reception to celebrate her life will follow the services at San Carlos Hall, across from the church. In lie of Flowers the family suggests a memorial donation be made in her memory to the San Carlos Cathedral Restoration Project.
