Kura ?Susie? McKinley September 14, 1925 ? March 28, 2011 Marina ? Kura ?Susie? McKinley quietly passed at home on March 28, 2011. Born in Kawasaki, Japan she married John McKinley in 1948 and established their first home in Kawaguchi City, Japan during which time their first son Haruo was born. Subsequent moves to Olympia, Washington; Budigen, Germany (greeting second son Brian in 1963); De Ridder, Louisiana. In 1972 they relocated permanently to Marina, California after John?s retirement from the US Army. Survived by husband John, sons Haruo (Trish) and Brian; grandchildren Anthony, Melissa, Jason; great-grandchildren Kayla, Danielle, Anthony, Jr. and Austin; brother Shiro Otake; nieces Miki and Keiko. Susie was passionate about her gardening (loving all colored roses!), proudly a Nakayoshi Bowling League member and part of the Kaiyo Singing Group. Visitation will be on Wed., April 6, 2011 from 4-7 PM with Vigil at 7 PM, Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey, CA. Funeral Mass to be on Thurs., April 7th, 10 AM at St. Jude?s Church, Marina, California. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
