Obituary of Deborah Joy Powers

Monterey Deborah Joy (Stroh) Powers was born July 29th, 1951 in Jamestown, North Dakota. Debi passed into the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior on April 9th, 2015 in Salinas, California. She was raised and attended school in Escondido, CA, graduating from Orange Glen High School in 1969. She worked in the Accounting and Financial fields, most recently at the Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center. Debi was a long time member of Soroptimist International-Salinas and served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors. During this time she formed a special scholarship fund, the Barbara Maag Award, in the name of another SI member. She also served on the board of the Montsalas Homeowners Association. Debi was preceded in death by her father Theodore Stroh, mother Anna Stroh, and brother Timothy Stroh. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Stroh (Linda) of Ramona, CA and sisters Dianne Barilotti (Rick) of Poway CA and Denice Hayashi (Leonard) of Escondido, CA and many nieces and nephews. Debi is survived by her sons Dennis Liam Powers (Becky) and Brendan James Powers (Becky) and grandsons Maddax and Jayden. Please join us in memory of our beloved Debi. Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2 pm - 4 pm and a Celebration of Life will be at 4 pm, both at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey, CA.
