Obituary of Kathleen Diane Pitruzzello

Kathleen Pitruzzello, 69, of Seaside, passed away at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula on Friday, December 12, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Kathy was born in San Jose, California to William and Esther Kennett. She was the youngest of five children. Kathy grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains above Los Gatos and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1963. She then moved to Seaside where she met and married Sebastiano Pitruzzello. Together they raised five children, Christine, Rosemarie, Salvatore, John and Michael. From an early age, Kathy had a great appreciation of books and music. She played piano beautifully, and would happily sing to her grandchildren whom she loved tremendously. Kathy loved to cook, and she delighted in spoiling her family with delicious home cooked meals and pies from scratch. Kathy was thrilled with the simplest of things; good food, a beautiful poem, a blooming sweet pea or rose, a good book, or a lovely song. She also had a wicked sense of humor, and loved nothing more than a good laugh. Kathy always put others before herself. Nothing was more important to her than family. Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Pitruzzello; siblings Maxine Nash, Jane Thompson and Bill Kennett. She is survived by her husband, Sebastiano Pitruzzello of Seaside; her children, Rosemarie Bacon of Antioch, Salvatore, John and Michael Pitruzzello, all of Seaside; sister Carol Ann Borges; niece and dear friend Susan Larsen. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. While there are no words that can describe how much Kathy will be missed by those she left behind, we take great comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her parents, her siblings, and the daughter she lost too soon.
