Eugene Thomas Calderone
It is with much sadness that the family of Eugene Thomas Calderone announces his passing on December 12, 2014. Eugene was born and raised in DuBois, Pennsylvania on May 4, 1932. He enlisted in the United States Army serving proudly for 23 years, earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals before retiring.
Eugene had a second career with the Civil Service retiring after the closure of Fort Ord.
During his career he was given an award for contributing to the improvement of his work environment. He also returned to school to complete his degree at Monterey Peninsula College. Eugene loved history and enjoyed researching military history.
He also loved visiting the country of Japan where he will be missed by many. Eugene will be remembered as a man of integrity and kindness. His dedication to his country and to his family was his priority.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hiroko Calderone, son Steven Calderone, daughters Linda Calderone, Ruth Hudock, Mary Jane Rigmaiden (David) and two grandsons, Daniel and Sean Rigmaiden.
