Obituary of Nancy Marie Vick

MARINA, CA - Nancy passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 2, 2014 at the Community Hospital of Monterey. On March 30, 1938, she became a gift of love to her parents Jeanette Pershing Miller and Harry L. Miller of Terre Haute, Indiana. Nancy was a child bride, age 16, marrying Vernon Vick (aka Bob) on September 25, 1954. Not a shotgun wedding, just two young kids in love that lasted 60 years. She was also a devoted Army wife for 30 years, always finding time to volunteer for services for the betterment of others (i.e. - church functions, military wives clubs and her favorite, The Red Cross). Her biggest challenge was taking care of three boys - Harry, Timothy and Michael during Bob's three assignments overseas. She was also the grandmother to three grandchildren - Ryan, Adam and Laura. A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 4pm at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
