Anthony, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 1st. He went peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.
Tony was born in Junction City (Fort Riley), Kansas and became a lifelong California resident when his parents settled in Seaside in 1962. Many of these contestants went on to become state titleholders and compete at the annual Miss America scholarship program. He was so beloved by these young women, that he was asked to officiate at a number of their weddings. Tony met his love of twelve years, Negda Alvarez, through her daughter, Felicia - one of his mentees.
More than the sum of his many great accomplishments, Tony’s legacy will be the love and passion he had for those persons closest to his heart and his soul.
