Obituary of Rosie Bell Eskridge

Mother Rosie Bell Eskridge  passed on April 21, 2022 at her home, age of 87. She was surrounded by her family.  Born on July 17, 1934 to the union of O D and  Eula Mae Holland at Marvyn, Alabama.

Mrs. Eskridge loved and was devoted to her husband Charlie M. Eskridge who preceded her in passing in 2012. She is survived by her eldest son Alvin Eskridge, (wife, Linda Eskridge), of San Jose Ca, daughter Rosemary Eskridge-Evrenos, of South Pasadena, Ca, and her youngest son, Charlie M. Eskridge II, of Marina, Ca. Her blessings continue with 5 grandchildren, Angel Eskridge, Marrinda Eskridge, Alina Eskridge, Kaya Evrenos II and the youngest Teimur Evrenos. She also has a Godson, Shaundale Bird. 

Mrs. Eskridge (nickname “SISTER”) was the second eldest of (9)children. Her father, mother, 2 brothers (Deacon King Moses Holland and William N. Holland) sister (Eula Mae Coleman) preceded her in passing.

Remaining siblings are, sister Hattie Baker Stanley, (husband, Jimmy Stanley) Columbus, Ga; sister Susie F. Colman, Columbia S.C.; sister Virginia Green, WV; brother Rev. O.D. Holland, Jr.; Fayetteville, Ga; and sister Pink Daisy Brooks, Auburn, Al.

There are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Eskridge was a certified Baker for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, Fitting specialist for Target/Mervyn’s for several years.

She was former President for the 28th district, American Legion Auxiliary. She worked tirelessly with several divisions and units of the Auxilary for 42 years as well as being very active in the community. When time permitted she enjoyed making pottery, figurines, bowling, gardening, fruit preserving and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.  We all will miss her dearly as we know all of you will, as well as countless others……WE LOVE YOU MOM!!
