Obituary of Yoshiko Durden

Yoshiko “Yoshi” Durden was 90 years old when she passed away July 18^th, 2021 at Monterey Community Hospital.

Yoshi was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, a 20 year retired Army Veteran. She leaves behind a daughter, 2 grandsons, and 7 great grandchildren.

In her youth in Japan, she was a sports enthusiast, excelling in distant running and swimming.

Yoshi enjoyed entertaining friends, cooking her favorite Japanese dishes. She had a great sense of humor and always liked seeing everyone happy and laughing. She also enjoyed music, Doris Day was her favorite singer. Watching Sumo wrestling was a favorite pastime too. Yoshi was an active participant of the Sally Griffin Exercise class in Pacific Grove for over 25 Years, attending three times a week.

Seaside was Yoshi’s home for over 60 years. She enjoyed the beautiful ocean views and temperate climate.
