Obituary of Virginia P. San Paolo

Virginia P. San Paolo, peacefully departed this world to be with the love of her life Salvatore, on May 19, 2021. She was 85 years old.

Virginia was born in Phoebus, Virginia on January 9, 1936 to Arita and Captain John Orlando.

She married Salvatore San Paolo, on November 23, 1952 and they had two daughters, Maria and Rita. They own a grocery in Magnolia, Massachusetts which tragically was destroyed by fire in 1969. After the tragedy they took a trip to California. The trip extended to a long stay and Virginia always joked that she has been on vacation since 1969.

She worked at the canneries and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and was a Director at Large with the Monterey Civic Club where she volunteered at Monterey County Elections and other organizations. She loved helping people, traveling, and had a passion for baking.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria (Johnny) Quilenderino, of Marina, CA. Rita (Ed) Oueilhe, grandchildren Cristina (Jason) Davis, Salvatore San Paolo, of Reno, NV. Jennifer Quilenderino (Dave Sanders) of Ft Collins, CO. Great grandchildren Andriana Garcia, Vincent Davis, Salvatore and Chloe San Paolo of Reno, NV. Step grandchildren Johnny, Joseph and James Quilenderino. Her aunt Nancy Kinghorn of Gloucester, MA. Niece Linda (Chris) Rogstad and their daughters Rebecca and Sophia of Seattle, WA. and Nephew; Sammy Ciaramitaro and his children, Sarah and Vincent of Gloucester, MA. Nieces: Sally Ferguson, Maria (Tato) Riquetti and Josephine Dufva, Monterey, CA.

Service arrangements are being provided by Mission Mortuary of Monterey; CA. A private service will be held.

Please make donations to SPCA or the Children’s Wish Foundation instead of flower donations to the family, it would be greatly appreciated. 

Virginia’s family would like to give their appreciation and Thank you to Hospice & Westland House, Dee Randolph, and Sally Ferguson for the loving care they gave to our mother, Virginia.

Virginia will be forever deeply missed by her loving family, dear friends and her beloved dog, Nosey Rosie.
