Obituary of John David Walker

John David Walker, age 72, passed away on January 18, 2021.  Dave was born in Washington Iowa on January 23, 1948, to John W and Martha Walker.  Dave lived most of his life in Marina, California.

 

Dave attended Seaside High School, Monterey Peninsula Community College and graduated from California State University, San Jose.  He held various jobs around the Monterey County, from service writer at local auto dealerships, auto parts salesperson, to customer service representative at a couple places on the peninsula.

 

Dave enjoyed music and played trumpet in the school bands.  He especially enjoyed attending many of the jazz concerts that were held on the Monterey Peninsula.

 

From 1966 and on, his passion and love was anything with wheels that raced.  He was a valuable crew member and worker with the Jim Bowman Racing and participated with a NASCAR State and IMCA track championships.

 

He was a member of the El Estero Presbyterian Church in Monterey.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart, Paulette Walker.  He is also survived by several cousins in Iowa and relatives on his wife’s side of the family in California and Hawaii.

 

Because of the COVID-19 restrictions and his wishes, there will be no services.
