Obituary of ViAnne Elizabeth DiGiorgio

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”-Mathew 11:28My mom ViAnne Di Giorgio, was born on June 28th, 1956 in Seaside, CA where she grew up. Her parents’ names were Charles William and Barbara Anne Jones. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Kitty, Vicki, Chuck, and Brad. Her 2 daughters and their spouses Valerie with Louis and Melanie with Jorge. Her 6 grandchildren Destiny, Serenity, Angel, Amy, Emily, and Isaiah. Her 3 great grandchildren Molly, Anthony and Andres. She grew up in a loving and supportive family. She had a close relationship with all her siblings, she talked or text them daily and loved to visit them any chance she got. My mom’s top priority was always Family. Her ability to love and show kindness to all was amazing! Our mom was a giver and loved to serve who she loved.My mom met our Father when she was 18. He was her first love and first heart break. She left that relationship with my sister and I along with the knowledge to make a few Filipino dishes to pass on to us. She married our Dad, Roy DiGiorgio when I was 6 and my sister was 5. They were married nearly 13 years when he passed away. He loved her dearly and showered her with gifts. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Our dad would buy a new decoration every year for the outside. He participated in the neighborhood decorating contest every year and my mom loved it. My mom would bake an assortment of Christmas goodies and hand them out as gifts every year.After our dad passed my mom shifted her focus to us. She devoted all her time into us and our children. Mainly to me as my life spiraled out of control for a bit and she raised my daughter Angel for a few years. Luckily, she had my sister who was always her Rock. Ourmomhelped raise our oldest daughters and did everything. She helped clean our homes watch our kids as we went to work, attended school and meetings. My mom was mom to all our friends, and she was grandma to all her grandkids friends too.My mom’s last few years on this earth were her hardest. She was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis in August of 2015, which left her paraplegic. She no longer could do what she loved to do and that was serve. Our mama was the best, she taught us to serve just as she did. My sister and I took care of her to the best of our ability. We served our Mama. Our last moments with her awake, she held our hands close to her chest. She looked at us with love in her eyes and whispered to us both “I love you”. Our mom was not alone when she passed away, we were by her side, holding her hands and whispering in her ear “I love you”.
