Obituary of Alexandrino Tuazon

Alexandrino Tuazon, aka “Alex” died peacefully in his sleep on September 5, 2019 at  the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey, California.

Alex was born on April 26, 1957, in Japan to Andrew and Rosita Tuazon. They moved to Seaside when he was about a year  old and he has reside here for the majority of his life. He  was an enthusiast for nice cars and motorcycles. Alex worked at Ave Maria Convalescent Hospital for over 20 years . Because of his mother’s hospitality and passion for cooking, Alex was able to pass this tradition on with those around him. His sister, Cora had taught him how to cook a few traditional Filipino dishes that she learned from their mother and states, “ he knew how the food was suppose to taste and he became a better cook than me!” He showed his love for cooking as he prepared many different dishes for his patients in the hospital and shared many dishes with his friends, family and colleagues. Alex had a distinct laugh, you knew he was in the room when you heard him chuckling. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like chatting with his best friend Ben every morning. They wouldn’t go a day without talking with each other, on occasion they would have breakfast a few times a week. He loved his sports and rooting for his favorite football team the Raiders and baseball team, the Giants. He was loved by many, his colleagues became family to him. His best friend, Ben and his wife, Nancy were like family to him as well. Hours before he passed in the afternoon of the 4th , he was surrounded by “his work family” , they had lifted his spirits and  brought him some joy, expressing laughter as they discussed about his famous doughnuts and apple pie!  You knew the presence of God's love was with him and those around him that day. He is survived  by his sisters, Tessie, Cora, and Ludy along with his nephews and nieces.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rosita; and his sister, Josephine.

A celebration of life, viewing,  rosary and mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m until 3:00 p.m. on September 12, 2019 at Mission Mortuary in Seaside with a reception to follow at Chef Lee’s Mandarin house in Monterey . All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alex’s life.
