Obituary of Helen Trotter

Mrs. Helen Ruth Trotter, age 87, was called home on December 6, 2013. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on December 13th in Seaside at Ocean View Baptist Church at 11 am. Helen was born on October 6, 1926, in McCaskill, Arkansas to Mr. John and Hoppie Griffin. Helen was the thirteenth of fourteen children. On November 9, 1946 she married Raymond Trotter and into this union 6 children were born. Helen and Raymond traveled the world with their family while Raymond was in the Army. Eventually, the Trotters settled in Seaside, California in the early 1950s and made it their home. In 1955, she joined Ocean View Baptist Church and Helen served on the Usher Board and sang in the choir. Helen will be missed by and leaves to cherish in memory her children: Landia Faye (James) Gatewood, Patricia Ann Trotter, and Jacqueline Anderson; sisters: Callie Bea Phillips and Arie Wyatt, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Her husband, Raymond Trotter, children; David Trotter, Janet Newson, Bernadette Clarke, son-in-law Wilfred (Butch) Clarke and granddaughter Shante Clarke preceded Helen in death.
