Obituary of Pedro Dydasco Cepeda

Pedro Cepeda passed away on October 29th, he was 77 years old. Pedro was born in Agana, Guam on February 20, 1936 to Jesus Mediola Cepeda and Ana Dydasco Cepeda. Pedro was raised in Guam, but met his wife in Hanau, Germany in 1958 and they moved to Marina, CA where they raised their family. Pedro served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving numerous Bronze Medals. He retired from the Army in Aug. '75 after 22 honorable years. He then had a career as the Dietary Cook at CHOMP for 23 years. Pedro enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, cooking, and playing poker with his buddies. He was a member of the Guam Club, Bayonette Golf Club, Hawaiian Club, VFW and the American Legion. Pedro is survived by his wife, Helga Cepeda; their children: Petra Jenkins, Peter Cepeda, Donna Birner, Bobby Cepeda and Michael Cepeda; his brother, Juan Cepeda; and sisters, Remedios Gogo, Ana Bordallo, and Rose Colletta; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jesus, Maria, and Jose Cepeda. A viewing will be held for Pedro on Sunday, Nov. 3rd from 7-9pm at Mission Memorial Park & Seaside Funeral Home, 1915 Ord Grove Ave in Seaside. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 4th at 1 p.m. at St. Jude's Parish, 303 Hillcrest Ave. in Marina followed by a burial at Mission Memorial Park.
