Obituary of James Walton Clark

James Clark, age 69 passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 just a few days before his 70th birthday from a lengthy illness. Born in Graceville, FL., Jim joined the army after graduating from high school. A true military man through and through, Jim spent 21 years serving his country overseas in Germany, and two tours of duty in Korea. While serving in the army Jim received certificates with The Police Academy in Florida, Criminal Investigator Navy Division in Key West, Florida and CID U.S. Intelligence Military Police and NBC Department, to name a few. Jim met and married his wife, his best friend, of 36 years, Ursula Faber Clark, in Monterey, CA. Ursula was lost on a dark night in Skyline Forest and she reached out for help on her CB radio. A charming man came to her rescue and guided her out to safety. A month later she was to meet her valiant savior, at a CB Meet in Monterey at the Portuguese Hall. Jim is survived by his three sons Duane (Abby), Robert, and Michael (Kristine), and his five grandchildren Maddy, Rob, Taeo, Dallas and Kai. Gidget, his sweet cheek kissing poodle will always miss her Daddy. Jim loved deep sea fishing in Monterey Bay and took many deep sea fishing trips to Florida, Alaska, and Mexico. If he wasn't out catching fish he was out duck hunting. Jim and Ursula also loved a good game of golf, and he surely never refused a good hand of blackjack. If you ever need a laugh you could always count on a great joke from Jim. Jim's true passion for cars eventually led him to open Clark's Auto Sales in Salinas. There Jim and Ursula worked for over 21 years. After their semi-retirement in 2006, Jim and Ursula, and Gidget, moved to Yosemite Lakes Park, a small community near Yosemite National Park. Jim was a long standing member of the American Legion in Seaside, CA. and a member of the VFW in Marina, CA. Ursula would like to thank Dr. James Dacus for the wonderful care, and tireless time he dedicated to Jim, and the wonderful care that Jim received at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Also, a special thank you to Kelly Esteban, family friend and caregiver. Visitation will be held at Seaside Funeral Home at Mission Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 10:30-11:30 am., funeral service at 11:30 am, a burial with military honors to follow.
