Obituary of Jacqueline Wesley

Jacqueline Wesley passed away on January 6, 2014. She meant so much to family and friends alike, leaving all whom she touched with empty hearts. Kentucky born in 1961 Jackie moved to the Monterey peninsula as an infant, spending her entire life in the area she adored. She was brought up by loving grandmother Jessie Gulley, who over the years, provided not only the basics of life, but important life lessons that would mold Jacqueline into the woman who meant so much to so many. Active in school sports, Jackie especially loved track and basketball. Later in life she took up bowling and really enjoyed going with family and friends. As with most families, the kitchen was the gathering place where Jackie made amazing steamed cabbage with bacon, fried chicken and cornbread, among many favorites. Recipes (and traditional iron pans!) from Jessie, now Jacqueline, provided not only great food but imparted family customs, culture and legacies to all. It is really the simple things of life that matter so much. Preceded in death by grandmother Jessie Gulley, grandfather William Gulley and aunt Doris Butts. Jacqueline is survived by husband Jumel Wesley; children Nathaniel Cox, Jessica (Edmond Sr.) Cannon, Michael (Nicole) White, Jr., Robert Simonton, Jr. and Quanisha White; grandchildren Jamecca Tucker, Marionna Cannon, Edmond Cannon, Jr., Nathaniel Cox, Jr., Jaeden White and Natazia Cox; mother Gail Smith; father Abram Mills, brother Ernest (Angela) Gulley; uncle Jody Gulley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Some people measure a persons' worth by how much money they have. Jackie will be measured by her values, values which are priceless.
