Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Evans

Mary E. Evans, age 90 died at home after a brief illness. She was born in Vernon, B.C. Mary took her nurses training at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. She came to California to pursue her nursing career in Watsonville, CA where she met her husband Ralph. Mary and Ralph were married for 60 years. The family moved to Monterey in 1958. Mary was active in blood services for the Community Hospital and Carmel Red Cross. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years and a parishioner at San Carlos Cathedral. Her husband Ralph preceded her in death. She is survived by her 6 children, Jennifer Lee (Gary), Marty Evans (BeBe), Mike Evans (Diane), Steve Evans (Michael), Lauren Rogalsky, Doug Evans (Mary Beth), 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 9:30am at San Carlos Cathedral. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the San Carlos Cornerstone Fund, 500 Church St., Monterey, CA. 93940 or to Central Coast Hospice.
