Obituary of Ervin Hall

Ervin Hall, 80, of Seaside, CA, passed away on January 4, 2018. Ervin was born and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi. He was the 10th of 13 children born to Clifton and Marlinda Hall, sibling to 6 brothers and 6 sisters. Ervin served in the United States Army for 20 years and while he was stationed in South Korea, he met and married Pak Yong Suk. He retired while stationed at Fort Ord and the Halls made their home in Seaside, CA. After his service, Ervin worked in landscaping and maintenance for Del Monte Shopping Center and lastly, as a custodian for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. Ervin and Yong celebrated 43 years of marriage and during that time, they were blessed with two beautiful children and one granddaughter. Ervin's passions included freshwater fishing, gardening, cooking and sharing the bounties of his catches, garden and skills in the kitchen with family and friends. He was also an avid sports fan and skilled pinochle player. Ervin was preceded in death by his son, Clifton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yong, his daughter, Mildred Hall, granddaughter Natalia Barrow and his sisters Otherine Wright of Inglewood, CA, Clotee Fuller of San Diego, CA and Georgia Kimbrought of Chicago, IL. Family and friends will honor his life and memory on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 160 Seaside Court in Marina, CA. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the church service at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Avenue in Seaside, CA.
