Obituary of Stanley Albert Sells

On September 29, 2013, Stanley Albert Sells, 92, of Marina, California, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Stan was born in Tennessee on May 15, 1921. His family then moved to Whitewright, Texas where he graduated from Ector High School. Upon graduation, he served in the Army Air Corps as a flight engineer during World War II. After the war, he moved his family to California. Stan was a general contractor for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cribbage. He was a charter member of the Marina City Council and was a 50 year member and Past Master of Pacific Grove Masonic Lodge #331 F&AM. He was a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also belonged to the San Jose Scottish Rite, VFW - Marina, American Legion Post 649 and the Del Rey Oaks Moose Lodge. He served on the Apprentice Board of the California State Carpenter's Association for many years . Most of all, Stan (known as Pa to almost everyone) enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and family. Stan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judie; children, Peggy Taranenko and Stan Sells Jr. (Sandy); 4 grandchildren, Brannon and Chad Struer; Tricia Andrada and Terry Sells (Marialice); 5 great grandchildren, Brie Bliss, Marissa and Justin Andrada, Kameron Struer, and Rebecca Sells; and great great grandson James Shorey; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Stan was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Sells, in 1976, parents, Ed and Betty Sells; his brothers, Jack, Jimmy, Howard, Shirley and his sister Polly Sells.
