Obituary of Juan Carlos Ortiz

Carlos Ortiz, of Seaside, California went to be with our Lord and father September 19, 2017. Carlos was survived by his son Nathaniel, mother Pok, eldest sister Iris, middle sister Linda, nephew Michael and Josiah, niece Angelica and Hannah, and mother of his son; Heather Goken. Carlos was born in Baumholder, Germany on May 25th, 1980, but spent the majority of his life in his hometown of Seaside, California. His family and friends surrounded him in the city he called home. He always said he could never envision himself being anywhere else because he said he had everything he could ever possibly want here: his son and family. Carlos never liked to smile in photos. He would always have a stoic stare. The photos where he proudly displayed uplifted brows and a proud smile were always with his son. Repeatedly, Carlos would say his son Nathaniel was his greatest accomplishment, his best friend, his heart, and his life. Carlos's most prized possession was a Dodge Ram truck with a massive HEMI engine he called 'Lakeisha'. He would always smile while dusting, washing, and waxing his 'baby'. I believe he's smiling upon us now. We all love you! You will be greatly missed! My dear brother, you are now truly happy. To commemorate my dear brother Carlos, please wear an article of red clothing. Please come and help celebrate my beloved brother's life at Mission Memorial Park September 29, 2017 @3 pm. A reception in honor will follow the service @ Chef Lee's Mandarin House. Located at 2031 North Fremont Blvd. Monterey, CA (on right end of Fremont Blvd. before freeway entrance).
