Obituary of Sueko Hebert

Sueko Hebert passed away April 23, 2018 at the age of 92 at Carmel Hills Care Center in Monterey, California. She was born on May 10,1925 to Jinsuke and Komo Kato in Sendai, Japan. She met Roland E. Hebert while he was stationed in the Army at Camp Fowler in Sendai, Japan. They married on December 23,1954 and welcomed three children into their lives: Roland Jr., Susan and Edmond. The family travelled during his 30-year tenure throughout Japan, Germany and various stateside bases. Sueko and Roland settled in Marina after his retirement in 1981 and enjoyed various activities during retirement, such as travelling to visit with children and grandchildren in Guam, Japan, Massachusetts and Florida. They were active in the Marina Senior Center, St. Jude's Parish and enjoyed trying their luck at bingo and the Chukchansi and Mountain Top Casinos. Her husband passed away in 2012 and they were married for 58 years. Sueko is survived by sons Roland, Jr., (Robin) of Hercules, CA, Edmond (Grace) of Tamuning, Guam; daughters Susan Mowery of Valrico, FL and Yoshie Ota (Hisashi) of Sendai, Japan. She is predeceased by son Yoshimori Yaegashi of Sendai, Japan. Grandchildren are Nathan (Stephanie) Hebert of Marlborough, MA, Natasha Hebert of New York, Melissa Gabriel of Guam, Eddie Hebert of San Jose and Shawn Mowery of Valrico, FL. Great grandchildren are Eowyn River Hebert (Nathan and Stephanie) and Kamaya Gloria Eng (Kevin and Natasha). She is also survived by her sister Yukiko Takahashi of Sendai, Japan. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 1st at St. Jude's Parish, 303 Hillcrest Ave., Marina.
