Obituary of Frank Delano Edmond

Frank Edmond, born June 18, 1937, passed away on March 29, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto. Frank was born to Frank Edmond I (ca. 1889 TX) and Emma Anderson (ca. 1894 LA) in Muskogee, OK. Frank came to California with prosperity on his mind in 1946 and was a California resident for 71 years. Frank was a strong Christian man with love for God and his family above all. Frank had memorized most of the Old Testament scriptures. Frank comes from a long Christian lineage from the Church of God and Christ, also the Baptist Church. Frank served the Lord with his wife as a door greeter at Jubilee Christian Center (Presiding Pastor Dick Bernal), ministering at convalescent homes in communities through California and evangelizing on the streets in obedience to the voice of the Lord. In addition, Frank was an avid reader and in retirement taught various adults to read in local literacy programs. Frank started in the workforce at a very early age working as he completed high school at Delano high school. Frank also completed coursework at Riverside City College. Frank's work ethic was constantly on display throughout his life with his various successful sustained careers (notably as a Draftsmen for Hunter Engineering and as a professional Motor Coach Operator with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority as a proud member of the ATU and a Million Mile Award recipient). By those who knew him, Frank was witty, wise and generous. Frank also possessed unparalleled skill on the BBQ grill satisfying countless family and friends over decades with his homemade secret BBQ sauce. Everyone who knew him was affected by his strength and character as a man. He will forever live in our hearts exemplifying all that is good in a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a man. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Linda Edmond; sisters Helen Smith and Clemmie Pye; Daughters Sophia Watson, Leticia Thomas and Tessie Atwal; Sons Frank Edmond Jr., Shawn Thompson and Landon Edmond; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a wealth of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Preceding Frank in passing are his parents and his eight (8) siblings. Visitation services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4pm-9pm and funeral services on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:30am.
