Obituary of Mel Patrick Muniz

Mel Muniz, native of the Alamosa area of Colorado and long-time resident of Monterey, California, died on October 18, 2010, at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife, Anna Muniz, and son, Edward Muniz. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in North Africa and Europe. He eventually retired from the military after more than twenty years of service. After retiring from the military, Mel worked for the California State Employment Development Department at the Salinas and Monterey offices, where he provided employment counseling. A memorial service to be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, 11 am at Santa Rosalia Chapel in the San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey, CA. The family prefers that those who wish to make contributions make them in his name to a charity of their choice.
