Obituary of Marie Nathalie Richwine

Marie Nathalie (Nat) Richwine Nat passed on October 20th surrounded by her loving family at the Community Hospital of Monterey. She was preceded in death by her husband Bonnie E. Richwine, her father, mother and 2 brothers. She is survived by her son Terrance and spouse Deborah of Prunedale, Ca. her daughter Cheryl Herod and spouse Frank of Marina, Ca. her daughter Kim Zimmerman of Marina, Ca., grandchildren Beau and spouse Dena, Erin and spouse Brett, Dustin and spouse Elizabeth, Kristin and spouse Adam, Curt and spouse Janelle, and Jenna. Nat had 7 great grandchildren, Leah, Hannah, Ryan, Olivia, Lucas, Blake and Annie. Her surviving family also includes her sister-in-laws Evelyn Richwine, Sandra Wolf, Eleanor Richwine, Nilda Serrano and Paula Richwine. Her 8th great grandchild is expected in March 2011. Nat was born in Lemoore, California on December 25, 1929. She was a founder of Marina?s first and only drill team the Marina-ettes and co-owner of Marina?s first grocery store Bonnies Market now known as El Rancho Market. Nat was a retired member of the retail clerks union UFCW. She loved to travel and her favorite hobby was making beautiful handmade quilts for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her adoring family and especially being Grama Nat to her many great grandchildren. Services will be held at Mission Mortuary in Monterey at 3pm Monday, October 25 preceded by a visitation from 1pm-3pm. A gathering celebrating her life will be held at her home following the ceremony. A second service will be held in Lemoore, Ca. on Wednesday, October 27th at Phipps-Dale Mortuary at 1pm with Rosary & Eucharist at St. Peters Catholic Church at 2pm. Burial services will follow at the Lemoore Cemetery where she will be laid to rest for eternity with her beloved husband of 63 years. Family and friends will reunite at the Vinyard Restaurant afterwards.
