Obituary of Janis Leger

On April 8th, 2018, Janis was reunited with her husband of 41 years, Phil. She was born in Riverside, CA, to Cliff and Helen. Janis attended John North High School where she met her high school sweetheart. They married and moved to Monterey, CA, where they lived happily, raising their son, Jeff. Janis loved her work as a dental assistant and helping to run the front office, where she took pride in recognizing and remembering the names of all her patients. Her favorite job was being a loving wife and mother. As a family, they had many wonderful vacations where they made lasting memories, some of her favorites being Scotland and Ireland. Every Sunday, she could be found walking along the beautiful Monterey Coast with her best friend Melanie. Janis held a very special place in her heart for her grandson Collin with a bond that was indescribable. Janis had an ability to make everyone feel special and all of us feel blessed to have had her in our lives. Janis is survived by her son Jeff and wife Marie, and grandson Collin of Seaside, CA, brother Doug of Riverside, CA, and numerous friends and family. A Funeral Service will be held at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero in Monterey on Monday, April 23rd beginning at 12:00 pm with a burial following at the Monterey City Cemetery.
