Obituary of Betty Yoshiko M. Crane

We celebrate the life of our loving mother, Betty M. Crane, who passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her youngest son and her best friend on Friday, Nov.3, 2017. She was born in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan and enjoyed a long, full life. She was very active with the First Baptist Church in Marina and volunteered for years with the Monterey Peninsula Thrift Center. One of her childhood dreams was to own a beauty salon, which she did for many years in Marina; she was a well known hair dresser on the Peninsula for over 30 years. She loved gardening and maintained a large and bountiful flower garden in her yard as well as fruit trees and vegetables. Betty was married to Donald P. Crane for 58 years before he left us in Oct.2012. They traveled to many locations around the world together discovering interesting new places including: Japan, Russia, all of Europe, Central and South America and the USA. She loved life and adventure, helping friends, meeting new people, cooking and beautiful sunsets. She is survived by her two sons, Allen Crane of Aptos and Roy Crane of Marina. They have requested that donations be made to in Betty's name to any charity that is helping with the recent hurricane and earthquake disasters. Memorial service will be held this Saturday, Nov.11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Marina, at 2pm.
