Obituary of Donald Tatum

Donald King Tatum September 19, 1934 - August 4, 2014 Monterey - Don left on his last journey on August 4th, 2014 after a year of declining health. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, he discovered the beautiful Monterey Peninsula in 1958, when he was assigned to the Defense Language Institute. After thirty years of military assignments around the world with the United States Navy and The Defense Department, Don and Marianne returned to settle in Monterey. During the next years he was able to indulge in his passion for travel to new and exciting places, always keeping his passport up to date and his suitcase packed. Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marianne; Son, Christopher and daughter Jennifer, and his beloved little Terriers Fergie and Pippa. Private burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. May the road rise up to meet you. May the sun shine warm upon your face.
