Obituary of Philippe Edward Dumont

Philippe E. Dumont, 41, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January, 10, 2014. He was born April 25, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to California in 1974 when his family was stationed at Fort Ord, CA. Once his father retired, he lived in Seaside, then Monterey until he decided to move out of the area and pursue a career as a Chef. Cooking was his passion. He eventually returned home and worked at various restaurants and catering companies on the Monterey Peninsula over the years. Phil enjoyed the outdoors, riding his bike and fishing. He is survived by his mother, Leona Henley & step-father, Samuel Henley of Monterey. A sister, Christine (Anthony) Marquez of Seaside and a brother, Charles Dumont, Jr. of Monterey. Nephews include Anthony (AJ) and Jeremy Marquez, one great nephew, Roland and a great neice, Rowena. His father, Charles Roger Dumont died in 1993. A small gathering will be held at Mission Mortuary on Saturday, January 18, 2014, 1pm-3pm in Philippe's memory. Cremation will follow at a later date.
