Obituary of Carmela Spadaro
Monterey -
Carmela Spadaro died peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in San Francisco, CA. on September 26, 1920. She spent most of her life in here in Monterey with her husband of 57 years, Paul Spadaro. In her teenage years she helped her parents in their family business, The San Carlos Meat Market across from the Old Custom House.
She is survived by her children Anna (late Sal Vermi), Mary Tardio (Frank), Antonette (late Joe Rappa), Paula Scanlon (Michael) all of Monterey. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and also a member of H.E.R.E. Union Local 483.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Spadaro, sister Nina Aliotti and her parents Gaetano and Mary Cecilio.
Carmela will not only be missed by her family, but by cherished friends whom she enjoyed her weekly card games. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to Italy and took many cruises. She was very proud of the roses that lined the path to her home.
The Spadaro Family would like to extend their thanks to the Cardio-Pulmonary Group and Hospice of the Central Coast for their caring and kindness. A special thank you to her caregivers Serena and Debbie.

A Vigil will be held January 14, 2014 at 7pm at Mission Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be January 15, at 9:30am at San Carlos Church.
