Obituary of Susan Teresa Page

Susan Teresa Page, age 73, passed away peacefully in Carmel on October 4, 2013 with family at her side. A San Francisco native, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Arthur Page and the late Harrie Hill Page. Susan was educated at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco. She made her Debut at the 1959 Cottilion in San Francisco and was honored as "La Favorita" the same year at Mission Dolores for the San Francisco Founding Day Celebration. Susan was a descendant of Joaquin Castro, a Spanish soldier who settled in San Francisco in 1776. She also traces her Spanish lineage to other early California families including the Arguello, Bandini, Carillo and Estudillo families. The Bandini family home, Casa de Bandini, was at the center of San Diego social and political life during the 1830's to 1850's and still exists today in Old Town, San Diego. Susan's great-grandfather on her paternal side was Charles Page, a noted maritime lawyer in San Francisco. Susan, "Suzie" or "Suzanna" to friends, "Uma" to her grandchildren, spent many years travelling the world, living in Belguim, Portugal, Switzerland and Greece for many years. Her spontaneous Gypsy spirit will be cherished and never forgotten by her adoring friends and family. We will miss her love of life, her passion for books, insatiable curiosity, big heart and fierce loyalty. We will always think of beloved Suzie when by the sea, her favorite place. Susan is survived by her daughters Alexandra Page Clark and Pamela Victoria Clark; her grandsons Alexander and Erik Harvey and their father Curtis; her former husband Edgar Sanderford Clark; wife Nancy; her sister Pamela Page Galy and husband Philippe; her nephew and niece Michael Page Galy, wife Maria Navarro, and Marina Hill Morse and husband Michael; great-nephews and great-nieces Hunter Morse, Daniel Galy, Olivia and Sophie Morse, her cousins Jay Schurman, Juana Schurman Ligamari, husband Anthony and their children Lucia and Michael. Contributions are suggested to St. Anthony's Dining Room in San Francisco or charity of choice.
