Obituary of Pamela Kay Singleton

Miliptas- Due to her long fight against cancer Pamela died peacefully at her home in Milpitas, CA surrounded by her loving family. She was 67 years old. She was born at Saint Francis Hospital in San Francisco, CA. but raised on the Monterey peninsula attending local schools, graduating from Monterey High School in 1964 and attending Monterey Peninsula College. She worked as a Data Base Administrator for Northrop Grumman Corporation which is the fourth largest defense contractor in the world (an American Global Aerospace, Security and Technology Company,) retiring in 2005 after 32 years. She was an avid reader, bowler, seamstress, baker, chef, soccer, baseball, softball and football mom. She was a big SF Giants and 49'ers fan, GO GIANTS, GO NINERS! Pam also enjoyed music, listening to old gospel, country western and rock 'n roll songs, always singing along trying to get everybody to join in. It was a lot of fun. She loved riding horses and going to the race track with her grandparents and uncles who were horse breeders, trainers and competitors. Her grandfather James Short won the all-around cowboy and bull riding championship in 1933 at the Salinas Rodeo. She enjoyed watching old TV shows and movies especially western and Perry Mason. Her true love was preparing big meals or barbecuing with family friends, holidays (especially Christmas) and all the many birthdays. She was a loving, caring, compassionate and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece, cousin, friend and employee. She was so proud of her fathers' military service in Europe during WWII (GO ARMY!) and her sons' service with the Marines in the Somalia Campaign of 1993 and Rwanda (HOORAH!) She will be terribly missed that words cannot express the sorrow in the hearts she so touched.
