Obituary of Giuseppe Catalano

Giuseppe Catalano December 30, 1937-August 30, 2010 MONTEREY, CA ? Giuseppe Catalano, 72, passed away peacefully Monday, August 30, 2010 in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Trapani, Sicily (Italy) to Giuseppe Catalano and Anna Schiavo. He arrived in California at age 32 and has resided in Monterey for the past 40 years. He is preceded in death by his uncle John Catalano of Manteca. He is survived by: his wife, Anna Catalano; daughter Rosanna Catalano; son John Catalano (Tawnee); two sisters Catia Catalano (Valter) and Marianna Catalano (Antonio) of Italy; two brothers, Joe (Andrea) Catalano, and Frank (Dalia) Catalano; brother in law, Ventura (Mary) Manuguerra; brother in law, Giuseppe (Elisabetta) Manuguerra; and many nieces and nephews. Pino was devoted to his family. He enjoyed the games of soccer and bocce. He loved traveling with his wife of 37 years, cooking and meeting his friends at the coffee shop downtown. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and generosity. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 2nd at 4 pm and rosary will follow at 7 pm at the Mission Mortuary.
