Jennie Teresa Rouch

Jennie Teresa Furino Rouch passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 20, 2022, at the age of 81 after a brief illness. Jennie was born August 18th, 1940, in Monterey, Ca to Tony and Mary Furino. She graduated in 1959 from Monterey High School and was a lifelong resident of the Monterey Peninsula. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Brown (Ron), son Alexander J Rouch IV (Karen), her beloved grandchildren Michael Brown, Erica Brown (Sean), Vanessa Rouch, and great grandsons Jayden and Jordan Brown. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Ann Fraps, Frances LoMonaco, Nancy Frisco, Anthony Furino, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Mary Furino, nephews Mike Fraps and John Defranco, brother-in-law Joseph Frisco, and great niece Danielle Ashman. Jennie had a lengthy career as bookkeeper for Marina Florist and Ocean View Veterinary Hospital. She was an active volunteer and member of numerous organizations throughout the Peninsula, including The Italian Catholic Federation, Catholic Daughters, Sons of Italy, Monterey Civic Club, Oldemeyer Senior Center, Moose Lodge #876. Elks Lodge #1285 and many more. She gave her time generously and could always be counted on to help whenever needed. Jennie was an avid Bocce player and was the proud winner of Player of the Year in 2015. She loved the game and her fellow teammates immensely. What Jennie loved most of all was spending time with her family, shopping with her daughter and helping her with weddings, theater with her son and daughter in law, family gatherings and parties, and watching her great grandsons play sports. She rarely missed a chance to spend time with family or friends and her absence will leave a great void for many. Visitation will be Monday March 14th, 2022, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Mission Memorial Mortuary. Mass will be Tuesday March 15th, 2022, at San Carlos Cathedral, followed by a processional along the water. Reception will be at Moose Lodge in Del Rey Oaks at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to SPCA or Shriners Children's Hospital, two of Jennie‚Äôs favorite charities, which she donated to regularly.
